Kanz e Aza Contribution Terms
Version: 1.0 · Effective: 14 October 2026
These terms apply when you send a lyric, a correction or other material (a Contribution) to Kanz e Aza through the app or the website. Kanz e Aza is run by Mir Husain Ali Mohammed in Oman ("we", "us").
1. What you send us
When you submit a Contribution, we receive:
- the lyric's title, text and formatting;
- the details you give: language, categories, subcategory, release year, poet and anjumans;
- your account ID: an anonymous one in the app, or the one linked to your Google sign-in on the website; the dates you submitted and edited it; and the version of these terms you accepted.
We store this with Google Firebase. We never publish your account ID, name or email address. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it, including what Google sign-in shares with us.
2. Your promises
By submitting, you confirm that:
- you wrote the Contribution; or its poet or rights holder agreed to it being shared on these terms, including the public licence in section 4; or it is old enough to be free of copyright;
- the poet's name and other details are correct to the best of your knowledge;
- it doesn't insult or attack any person, community or religious personality, and it isn't hateful or unlawful;
- you are at least 13 years old, and if you are under 18, a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you.
Apart from the poet's name and anjumans, please don't include personal information about yourself or anyone else in a Contribution.
3. You keep your rights
You, or the poet, keep whatever rights you already have in the Contribution. These terms give permission to use it (section 4); they don't transfer ownership to us.
4. Permission you give
- To us. You give us, and anyone who later runs Kanz e Aza, a free, worldwide, non-exclusive permission that you can't withdraw. It lets us store, review, edit (spelling, formatting, script and details such as category and poet), publish and distribute your Contribution in the app, on the website and in the lyric catalog, including sending it to readers' devices so they can read it offline.
- To everyone. You also license your Contribution to everyone under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), and allow us to publish it with that licence in the public Kanz e Aza Lyrics catalog on GitHub (https://github.com/The-Tech-Boi/Kanz-e-Aza-Lyrics). Anyone, including other apps and businesses, may then copy, share, change and sell copies of it, as long as they credit the poet and Kanz e Aza. This licence can't be withdrawn: if we later remove the lyric, people who already have a copy may keep using it.
- If you aren't the poet. You confirm that the poet or rights holder agreed to points 1 and 2, or that the lyric is old enough to be free of copyright.
- After you delete. Deleting a Contribution or your account doesn't end these permissions for a Contribution we have already published.
Contributions are shared publicly. The catalog is meant to be an open, reliable source of correct, verified lyrics that anyone, including other apps and developers, can use. Only submit material that may be shared this way.
5. Credit
We name the poet wherever we know who it is. We don't name contributors publicly.
6. Review and publishing
- An admin reviews every Contribution before it's published.
- We may publish, edit or reject a Contribution, and we may remove it later. If we reject it, we tell you why in My Contributions in the app, or My submissions on the website.
- Publishing isn't guaranteed and can take time.
- You can change a Contribution while it's waiting for review. After it's approved or rejected, send it again or email us.
- We may refuse further Contributions from anyone who repeatedly breaks these terms.
7. No payment
Contributions are voluntary. We don't pay for them, and no royalties or other compensation are due.
8. Removing a Contribution
- Not yet published: you can delete a pending or rejected Contribution yourself, in My Contributions in the app or My submissions on the website.
- Published: to remove a published lyric, email ashrafamily.sub@gmail.com. We'll remove it from the catalog and stop offering it to new users as soon as we reasonably can, which may need an app update. It may stay on phones that already downloaded it, in earlier versions of the public catalog, and in copies others made under the licence.
- Rights holders: if you are a poet or rights holder and believe a lyric was shared without permission, email ashrafamily.sub@gmail.com with the lyric's title and your details. We'll review it and remove it where appropriate, as described above.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll publish a new version with a new version number. The app and the website ask you to accept the new version before your next submission. Earlier Contributions stay under the version you accepted.
10. Terms of Use
These terms add to the Kanz e Aza Terms of Use, which also cover liability, your responsibility if a Contribution leads to a claim against us, disputes and governing law (the laws of the Sultanate of Oman). If the two disagree about a Contribution, these terms win.
